In a society emerging from political violence, the contestation over narratives about that past - who tells what and to whom - is an expected outcome of the continuation of conflict by other means. From concerns about the UK’s Ministry of Defence censoring the Saville Inquiry report into Bloody Sunday in Derry, to internet claims of ‘ethnic cleansing’ by groups like FAIR in County Armagh, ‘telling your story’ has become an important part of the peace process in the North of Ireland.
