鹿児島湾におけるマダイ放流効果調査データに基づき，'89～'04 年放流群の回収状況を推定評価した。また，放流年群別に推定した回収率に基づき，その年変動要因を検討した。その結果，'89～'04 年の放流魚混獲率（鼻孔隔皮欠損魚数/全調査尾数）は 8.0～73.5% であった。'89～'95 年放流群の累積回収率は 2.6～12.2%，経済効率（回収金額/放流直接経費）は 1.4～10.4 と推定された。放流魚の回収率と混獲率は近年低下してきており，その要因として，関連予算削減に伴う放流サイズの小型化，海面生簀における中間育成の中止等の影響が考えられた。
