CoCr2S4is a ferrimagnetic n-type semiconductorTc= 227 K.K1(77 K) = 3.53 × 105erg cm-3for as-grown CoCr2S4, 3 × 105for H2annealed, and 3.7 × 105for S2annealed. Sulfur vacancies exist in as-grown samples which act as doubly charged donors. They are charge compensated by Cr2+metal vacancies and it is assumed that Co3+could appear in A site. The main anisotropy ≅ 3 × 105is due to Co2+in A site. A small amount of Co3+(3d6,5E in Td) and Cr2+(3d4in D3dsymmetry of B site) give large positiveK1values.
