Abstract The volatile leaf oil of Evodia trichotoma (Lour.) Pierre (Syn: Tetradium trichotomum Lour.,) growing in Pu Mat National Park of Nghean province, Vietnam, extracted by steam distillation was investigated using Capillary GC and GC/MS. Thirty six compounds were identified of which cis-β-ocimene (18.7%) and trans-β-ocimene (48.1%) were the major constituents. Less predominant constituents included α-pinene (4.7%), myrcene (2.5%), β-elemene (5.0%), β-caryophyllene (6.8%) and bicyclogermacrene (3.5%). All the other components were in concentration of less than 2.0%.
