(34) Units used are dimensionless. They correspond to a system where the mass of a carbon atom, the lengthl of a CC bond, and kBTnf, where Tn<= 600 K, are all unity. A St of 1 corre-sponds to 7.51 X 10~ Í4 s and a value of the coefficient of 1 corresponds to 2.67 X 10~ 10 dyn/(cm s~ l) in cgs units. Note that this coefficient, which multiplies atom velocity in the Langevin equation to yield the frictional force acting upon it, is not the solvent viscosity µ; it is obtained from the latter by a relation such as Stokes’ law,= 6 µ, where o is an effective atomic radius.
