A Semantic-based Framework for Virtual Organization Management

跨组织协作被公认为网格研究的一个重要方向，但目前还没有多少系统得到很好的实现，真正投入大规模实际使用的应用也不多。提出了一种虚拟组织本体模型框架，简化了未来网格的跨组织协作。借助于语义技术，我们可以开发出基于语义的模型框架，即使在异种环境下也能实现互操作。该框架由一组本体组成，明确定义和描述了VO的哪些属性应该定义。定义并实现了虚拟组织和网格资源的语义模型，介绍了虚拟组织和网格资源的基本概念和表示机制，并将其应用于中国中医科学院。本文提出的原型系统也适用于其他VO应用项目。
Inter-organization collaboration is recently acknowledged as an important vision of the grid research, however there are not many well implemented system and not many applications that are in large-scale real use either. This paper present a VO (virtual organization) ontology model framework that simplifies the Inter-organization collaboration of the future grids. Thanks to the semantic technology, we can develop semantic based model framework to implement interoperability even in heterogeneous environments. The framework, consisted of a bunch of ontologies, definitely defines and describes which attributes of the VOs should define. We define and implement the semantic model of virtual organizations and grid resources and introduce the basic concepts and mechanisms to represent them and apply them to the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CATCM). The prototype presented in this paper is also applicable to other VO application projects.
