The anti-neoplastic agent taxol causes a sensory neuropathy which may limit its dose [1]. Symptomatic improvement of neuropathy is usual after cessation of therapy [1], but there are no reports of long term neurological effects. Experimental animal studies suggest that taxol causes predominant small fiber dysfunction. Our experience suggests that taxol neuropathy additionally affects large axons in humans and results in persistent dysfunction when given in high doses.
