To the Editor: We read with great interest the letter by Marek et al.(1) on a case of Cyclospora cayetanensis infection during the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in Chicago 2009. Coincidentally, two physicians from our hospital were also infected by C. cayetanensis at DDW in a Chicago hotel restaurant in 2009. The first patient, a 40-year-old gastroenterologist, suffered from first symptoms of C. cayetanensis infection on day 7 after the intake of food from the implicated Chicago hotel restaurant.
