DuHiNc; investigations into the behaviour of externally applied radioactive sulphur, a specific pattern of distribution of the isotope was observed in two allied dermatoses, seborrhoeic dermatitis and pHoriasis (Scott, 1957). This prompted a study of the hehaviour of other eatioiiH—mercury and zinc—^both of whiek behave chemically like sulpluir and both of whicli liave a successful hut empirical use in the treatment of these dermatoses. In view of a possible aHHociation of Hul|»hydryl-(!i)ntainirig amiiio acids with the distribution of radioactive sulphur, an attempt was made in this neeond investigation to relate I he histochemical position of these 8H grou])8 to the autoradiographie localization of the cations under study. Finally, by affecting the activity of these groups we sought to demonstrate parallel alteration in the behaviour of the radioactive elements.
