In this chapter we are going to study a specialn-person game of economic origin. The oligopoly game can rightly be looked upon as a representative of games very closely attached to real economic problems since many essential features of a competitive situation present themselves here in a typical way. In addition, the methods used for analyzing this game also deserve attention as they illustrate how a special, problem-oriented approach can alleviate the solution of a rather complex problem. The general ideas and techniques applied might prove to be useful for the treatment of other n-person games of similar nature, too.
