The subtle and varied clinical manifestations of renal cell carcinoma are well known to the urologist and internist." Grologic investigation of patients with polycythemia, non-specific hepatic dysfunction or fever of unknown origin occasionally has led to the detection of an otherwise unsuspected renal neoplasm. Similarly, metastatic lesions involving bone, lung and skin may be the first clues that lead to the diagnosis of an underlying hypernephroma. However, rarely is a hypernephroma suspected when the presenting symptom is vaginal bleeding.
