Detailed anatomical studies of the mammalian fornix system have, with few exceptions, been restricted to the lower mammals, viz., the mole, rabbit, and rodents. This is especially true of studies conducted by the aid of degeneration techniques, with the result that little is known of the mode of distribution of the fornix in higher mammalian forms.
