MATERIALS AND METHODSThe “prone-position test” was carried out on a total of 118 patients (208 eyes). All patients with known or suspected angle-closure glaucoma attending the Rothschild Municipal Hospital, Haifa, during a 12-month period were included in the study, with the exception of those in which persistently raised ocular tension made the performance of provocative tests impossible. In addition, 28 cases of open-angle glaucoma and a control group of 36 subjects were examined. All subjects underwent a routine ophthalmic examination and gonioscopy, and in those with glaucoma, visual fields were examined and tonography performed. The dark-room test was carried out on all eyes
