Abstract In June 2011, belatacept (Nulojix; Bristol-Myers Squibb), a fusion protein that inhibits T cell activation by binding to CD80 and CD86, was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the prophylaxis of organ rejection in adult patients receiving a kidney transplant.
