Some missing points and controversies in discussions about strong CP in previous literature are remarked. The equations of vacuum alignment including heavy quarks are shown to be a straightforward generalization of the equations due to Crewther. Di Viccia, Vinesiao, Witten and 't Hooft for light quarks and directly related to anomaly equations. A scenario with vanishing dynamical condensate of a heavy quark is proposed as an alternative to a vanishing u quark mass.
