Small bubbles of smaller than 1 mm in diameter were produced by an orifice mixer under appropriate operating conditions. A thick orifice plate with a sharp edge was suitable for the generation of the bubbles of small and uniform size. Either low surface tension of high viscosity conditions of liquid was preferable for the generation of small bubbles.
