Selected aspects of ocular and adnexal tumors are discussed in the 11 chapters of this book. The first chapter on phakomatoses by R. L. Font and A. P. Ferry is practically important, very well written, and well organized. The second chapter by M. Yanoff emphasizes and explains the clinically important fact that about one third of eyes with uveal malignant melanomas are glaucomatous. W. C. Frayer states, in the third chapter, that benign hyperplasia of the retinal pigment epithelium is common, whereas true neoplasms of this layer are extremely rare. The classification, etiology, clinical appearance and treatment of epibulbar squamous cell carcinomas are presented by A. R. Irvine in the fourth chapter. Fluorescein angiography as an aid in the differential diagnosis of intraocular tumors is expertly discussed and illustrated by J. D. M. Gass in the fifth chapter. The uses of ultrasound tumor diagnosis and radiographic diagnostic techniques are presented
