The use of micromethods has become more and more important for the clini-cal andbiochemical laboratories because of the resulting savings of money, time, and space. Widely accepted macro-methods have been converted to micro-methods which require only 5 to 10¡ j\of sample. Dr. Mattenheimer also in-cludes ultramicromethods in the book. These are used to determine enzyme ac-tivity in the nephron, and require only a fraction ofthe sample needed for mi-cromethods from which they are adapted. The book, revised from the German, includes American methods and microanalvtical equipment, and is designed for use in clinical chemistry as well as biochemical research.
