In October 2016, an investigation at Guizhou province, Zhengan county, revealed some plants of Aspidistra Ker-Gawler (1822: 628) with freshly opened flowers widespread on limestone hillsides. This species was identified as new for science after studying relevant literature (Li 2004, He et al. 2011, Tillich 2014, Vislobokov et al. 2014, 2016, Lin et al. 2015, Liu et al. 2015, Xu et al. 2015a, 2015b, Pan et al. 2016, Zhou et al. 2016, Liang et al. 2016, Liu et al. 2016, LÝ et al. 2016).
