The article examines the effect of ambient temperature on the measurements of human body temperature and compares the thermal images of objects obtained by infrared cameras. Measurements by means of infrared cameras may be affected by the distance from the object to the camera. The air temperature in a medical diagnostic thermal imaging rooms should be constant, the patients should not be exposed to light radiation form lighting units and all measurements should be performed at the same distance.
