This year's Chromosome (Chr) 6 committee report sees an additional 66 loci placed onto mouse Chr 6, bringing the total number of loci to 208. The new loci can be identified by an asterisk in the first column of Table 1. The new loci have also been incorporated into the composite genetic map (Fig. 1) and the data pertaining to their mapping is added to Tables 2a and 2b, Table 3, or Table 4, as appropriate. Additions have also been made to the cytological map (Fig. 2). Updates for the recombinant inbred (RI) strain distribution patterns (SDPs)(Table 4), chromosomal variants (Table 5), mutant genes (Table 6), congenic strains (Table 7), primer pair sequences (Table 8), and the human homologies to mouse Chr 6 loci (Table 9) are also included in this report. The new nomenclature for the Hox-1 (now HoxA) loci is shown in Fig. 3. As no changes have been made to the physical map of the Tcrb complex and the fine genetic map of the Igk complex, readers are referred to last year's report (Elliott and Moore 1992).
