Ag and Ca atoms segregate to grain boundaries (GBs) in a solution treated state, which assists the earlier formation of GB precipitates compared to the grain interior during the early stage of aging. Prolonged aging leads to the growth of GB precipitates, which act as preferred initiation sites for microcracks.
