During marine mycological survey of the Maharashtra coast (the Arabian Sea), data on the frequency of occurrence of fungi from beach and mangrove habitats are recorded and the results presented in this paper. Samples of intertidal wood (227) from beach habitats and mangrove material (235) from mangrove habitats were collected in polythene bags at low tide from localities(Alibag, Bankot, Bombay, Dabhol, Dahanu, Devgarh, Ganapatipule, Hamai, Jaigarh, Karanja, Marum, Malvan, Ratnagiri, Redi, Revas, Shrivardhan, Vasai and Vengurla) along the coast of Maharashtra. The samples were examined in the laboratory for fungal growth and! or incubated in sterile collecting bags for several weeks and fungal species identified thereafter. The fungi studied were identified by direct microscopic observations and identifications confirmed I. The number of collections of each species and the number of wood samples which supported sporulating marine fungi were recorded for each habitat. The percentage occurrence was calculated from:
