This Study used retrospective review of patients with critical airway due to compression by an anterior mediastinal mass treated at a single pediatric teaching institution. Diagnostic workup is reviewed with a focus on diagnostic biopsy. Algorithm for streamlining the choice of biopsy technique and minimizing invasive procedures is suggested. (C) 2008 Elsevier Inc.
