Public spaces serve as new media in messaging due to ease of access, freedom of expression, equality and legal certainty. The development in the media causes each individual to interact and connect with each other in a medium known as social media. Social media not only transmit or transmit information, but communication technology in social media alters the relationship between people and their world fundamentally. This study aims to determine the implementation of public space in facebook fanspage Info Solo Cegatan. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The reason researchers use these methods because researchers trying to describe and obtain information about phenomena or events

systematically as it is. The object of this research is a member of facebook fanpage Solo Categatan info. Criteria informant in this research is active member of fanpage facebook Info Cegatan Solo which have joined for 1 year and active follow ground coffee member of ICS. Data collection in this study using interviews, observation and documentation. The analysis technique used by the researcher is an interactive data analysis technique. Based on the results of research known that the utilization of social media as an open public media not only become the dominance pemerinta, but social media is also used by the entire community and serve as public space. The presence of social media can eliminate the gap that was hidden and not known by the public, to be open and can be known by the public. Solo Categorical Info is one of the facebook fanspage whose existence is quite known by the people of Solo City as a public space. The form of implementation of the public spaces in Solo Categorical Info is by ignoring the status, focusing on the domain of Common concern and Inclusive. Implementation of public space through Info Cegatan Solo as a picture of the social reality of the community of the importance of concern to the community, so with the results of this study the authors provide advice to the entire community of Solo in particular, and the people of Indonesia in general to keep the character of the nation who always have a sense of caring against others.
