The addition of diazomethane to 7-chloro-norbornadiene is not stereospecifically endo, anti, as re-ported. The endo. syn isomer also forms. Nevertheless, the anti selectivity is high, ca. 9: 1, and no exo adduct is observed. Discretion is advised on other reports of ste-reospecificity in related cycloadditions.
