Tuberculin Reactions SIR,-Following your annotation on tuberculin reactions (Journal, June 29, p. 1522) it seems possible that a wider use of tuberculin in an oily vehicle may occur. I feel it right, therefore, to draw attentionto our findings at the Mospital for Sick Children. Using PPD in an oily sus-pension in 200 cases, we obtained a very large number of unpleasant local reactions to oil itself, particularly in babies and toddlers. The worst was a deep ulcer, one inch (2.5 cm.) in diameter; the least reactions were red indurated areas which have persisted now for a year. These reactions have occurred also among adults, but not so frequently. I believe, therefore, depot tuberculin in oil should only be used with the greatest caution in children.-I am, etc.,
