樹木による日射軽減効果を明らかにするために、ケヤキとキンモクセイの単木の緑陰を対象に、樹影内外の日射量分布の測定を行い、次のような結果を得た。1) 快晴の場合、樹影内の日射量分布の日変化は比較的少い。2) 樹影内の日射量は、天気の相違により大きく変化し、快晴時に最小、晴、曇の順に、より大きい値を示した。3) 樹形の相違によっても日射の軽減率は異なり、樹冠が広く低い樹木ほど、その率か大きい。
