The article focuses on a 55-year-old woman patient with a two-year history of fingertip dermatitis. She had worked as a secretary in a ceramic factory, but never had been employed as a ceramic production worker. On focused questioning, the patient recalled using a rubber kidney, which was used by the production workers to smooth decorative adhesive designs onto ceramic products, as a stress ball during her coffee breaks. Since she had not handled a kidney, her hand dermatitis stopped.
