A region upstream of the murine major histocompatibility complex gene, Eαd, has been shown previously to be required for B-cell expression. Binding of the B-cell-specific factor, NF-κB, to a site within this region is indistinguishable from that observed with the kappa enhancer binding site. NF-κB may be responsible for EαdB-cell expression.
