CREST, JST(Dated: February 2, 2008)We investigate the possibility of an Anderson transition below two dimensions in disorderedsystems of non-interacting electrons with symplectic symmetry. Numerical analysis of energy levelstatistics and conductance statistics on Sierpinski carpets with spin-orbit coupling indicates theoccurrence of an Anderson transition below two dimensions.
