360 one compact package the writings of one of the more persistent research examiners of the educational scene. Most of the all too brief chapters have appeared at various times in various places. Taken together, they give a clear understanding of what has motivated one psychologist to study students and student communities. As a group they also provide to the unfamiliar a sound perspective on the small liberal arts colleges for women. It is their very brevity that somewhat limits the conclusions that a reader can draw from the studies. One chapter," Attitude Contrasts of Educated Women over Six Decades," does include extensive data, but this characteristic is not present in many of the other chapters. The reader is perforce required to accept the author's conclusions as being reasonable and logical extensions of data that are known only to him. An early chapter bears careful reading and could well be the point of departure for many college curriculum and long-range planning committees."
