Multiple layer near-surface models for 2D lines can be constructed from uphole control. Time anomalies may still be present in the static solution due to the sparse sampling of the near-surface by the upholes. The anomalies are solved by additional shifts from residual statics, or replacement by statics calculated from refraction or tomography methods. These static shifts are inverted back to the multiple layer model to provide a revised model. This revised model forms a new 2D framework grid for additional 2D seismic lines. Where there are 3D surveys modeled with different methods of statics solutions, the framework provides primary control for cokriging of the statics solution from 3D surveys.
