Fluorescence and electron microscopical studies show that the detection of structures associated with the Abutilon Mosaic Virus disease is dependent on the sampling daytime. Moreover the infectivity of plant sap may vary during the day. The results emphasize the importance to consider the daytime as an essential parameter in experimental design in virological research.
