ABSTRACT Twenty-seven species of Eremidium are now known. In this paper sixteen new species are named and described. The genus ranges along the eastern scarp of South Africa, preferring lush vegetation, often at the margins of forests, but also occurring in the eastern extension of the fynbos region of the Cape. Illustrations of Nyassacris are provided for comparison.
