The stiffness of relaxed frog muscle is affected by its previous history of movement. The extent of this thixotropic effect is dependent on the size of the applied force (Lakie and Robson, 1988). The stiffness recovery following movement has now been studied at two tempertaures, and has been shown to proceed at a logarithmically declining rate.
