Big-well method is one of the methods widely used to forecast water inflow from working face now. However,it has been found that the water flow volume forecasted through this method is much smaller than the measured volume from the actual test in Jinjie coalmine. In order to forecast more accurately the inflow of working face so as to provide a basis for controlling roof water of working face,we proposed a combined method of dynamic and static inflows based on the big-well method by considering the characteristic of overlying stratum caving in shallowly buried coal seams. Its water inflow is composed of the inflow recharged from the side of caving area and the inflow from water-bearing strata. The data obtained with this combined method is close to that from the actual measurement, indicating that the parameters selected are suitable to the forecast water inflow from working face in shallowly buried coal seams.Meanwhile,in order to avoid the big deviation when the sole predictor method is used to forecast inflow, hydrogeological conditions analogy method is adopted to demonstrate this proposed method.
