Upflowing ion conics with energies of up to 100 eV and its response to quickly varying electron precipitation are reported from Exos-D charged particle observation. The field aligned bulk shift of upflowing ions is well correlated to electron precipitation even with a small scale, indicating the bulk shift is caused by the acceleration of parallel electric field around the satellite. On the other hand, the anisotropy (perpendicular heating) of upflowing ions responds to the electron precipitation in a dull way. Only in the large or long-lived region of electron precipitation, the anisotropy is reduced and the ion distribution in phase space approaches the ion beam. Signature of heating at lower altitude is still found in the phase space distribution of the ion beams. The observation shows a close connection between the elevated (bimodal) conics and upward beams.
