This is a practical book that will tell you everything you need to know to solve and create Sudoku puzzles in C. My intention is not to teach you how to become a software developer but rather how to use computer programs to deal with Sudokus. Therefore, you will not find here theoretical analyses of algorithms, solvability problems, or complexity theory. All the code I present and comment on in this book conforms to the ANSI-C standard as described in The C Programming Language by Brian W. Kernighan and Dennis M. Ritchie (2nd ed., Prentice Hall Software Series, 1989). It is a testament to the validity of “K&R” that the book is still in print unmodified since its first publication in 1988. If you don’t have it, you should definitely buy it. No C programmer should be without it.
