ResultsIn consideration of the three objective compliance parameters, only 33 of the patients were compliant (20 females, 13 males) and 67 were noncom-pliant (26 females, 41 males). Whereas 43.5%(n= 20) of the 46 female patients could be estimated as compliant, the compliance rate of the 54 male patients was only 24.1%(n= 13). On the other hand, 60.6% of the 33 compliant patients were females and 39.4% males, and 38.8% of the 67 noncompliant patients were females and 61.2% males. The difference be-tween female and male patients is statistically significant (p< 0.05) in the compliance and noncompliance group as well.
