Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with selected ion monitoring (GC/MS SIM) was evaluated for 53 pesticides by selecting multiple characteristic target ions for all the pesticides. These pesticides could be assayed simultaneously and effectively by GC/MS (SIM). In the final clean up, most of the pesticides were concentrated in the n-hexane/acetone (17: 3) eluate from a Florisil column. This approach seems effective for simple multi-residue analysis of pesticides in foods. (Received April 11, 1994)
