目的本研究的目标是根据元音/aɪ/ 的发音来模拟英国发音的地理变化。从英国国家音频语料库中挖掘了“五”一词中的数千个元音标记,并在英国 17 个地区进行了比较。本研究的设计预期全国范围内存在一系列方言,其中单元音实现(“feeve”中的/i/as)主要出现在北方,即一些苏格兰变体,而更多的双元化(“feeve”中的/aɪ/as)出现在南方。
ObjectiveThe goal of this study is to model geographic variation of UK pronunciation based on the pronunciation of the vowel/aɪ/. Thousands of tokens of the vowel in the word ‘five’were mined from the Audio British National Corpus and compared across seventeen regions of the UK. This study was designed with an expectation of a spectrum of dialects existing across the country with monophthongal realizations (/i/as in ‘feeve’) primarily found in the North, ie, some Scottish varieties, and more diphthongization (/aɪ/as in ‘five’) occurring in the South.
