Inquiry-based learning (IBL) can manifest itself differently in various classroom settings. Historically, IBL was most often implemented in proof-based courses. Lately it can be found in university mathematics classrooms at all levels. This paper provides an overview of IBL followed by three detailed examples of what IBL can look like in particular classroom settings. Dana C. Ernst is assistant professor of mathematics at Northern Arizona University. His e-mail address is dana.ernst@nau.edu. Angie Hodge is associate professor of mathematics and Dr. George Haddix Community Chair of Mathematics Education at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Her e-mail address is amhodge@
