Hereditary fructose intolerance is an inborn error of metabolism_ arising from a deficiency of a liver enzyme. 1• 2 Glucose release is inhibited with t, he resultant clinical manifestations of hypoglycemia often associated with nausea, vom. iting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, lethargy and coma. 1-5 Although cerebral, hepatic and renal dysfunctions have been documentecl, 1, 3-5 no previous association with renal tubular acidosis or nephrocalcinosis has been reported. This paper reports the coexistence of hereditary fructose intolerance, renal tubular acidosis and nephrocalcinosis wherein the dissolution of calculi was achieved.CASE REPORT DFS, a 42-year-old woman, was admitted to the Portland Veterans Administration Hospital* in November 1963, complaining of progressive generalized weakness to the point of paralysis.
