The technique of velocity sedimentation was employed to fractionate mouse bone marrow CFU‐s relative to two different phases of the cell cycle. CFU‐s in DNA synthesis which are destroyed by hydroxyurea were separated from other smaller CFU‐s which were shown to be insensitive to the drug and are presumably those CFU‐s in the G2 phase of cell cycle.
