Abstract An experiment was designed to establish whether the offspring of two crosses, Hubbard (♂) × Arbor Acre (♀), (HA), and Vantress (♂) × Arbor Acre (♀), (VA), had different parts to chilled carcass weight ratios. HA offspring gave greater breast and back and smaller drum and wing yields than VA offsrping. The findings strongly suggested a carcass weight influence on the ratio of parts to carcass. When carcass weights were grouped into 1100–1200 gm. and 1200–1300 gm. chilled carcass weights, few differences in yields due to strain remained.
