The article provides information on the chemical and biological properties of Porphyromonas gingivalis lipid A. It says that the lipid A part of lipopolysaccharide is the biologically active center, which acts on the host cells through a toll-like receptor 2 that found in enteric gram-negative bacteria. It also mentions that P. gingivalis lipid A was separated and purified, which shows its chemical structure to be lipoprotein consists of three fatty acid residue.
