Reported on is the placement of computer in a senior center as a means to obtaining information from elderly persons regarding medication side effects and other physical problems. Participants were enthusiastic about use of the terminals and, in several instances, detection of symptoms led to specific interventive actions on the part of the elderly individuals. The potential of such systems for multipurpose senior centers is discussed.
