We study actions of semisimple Hopf algebrasHon Weyl algebrasAover an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We show that the action ofHonAmust factor through a group action; in other words, ifHacts inner faithfully onA, thenHis cocommutative. The techniques used include reduction modulo a prime number and the study of semisimple cosemisimple Hopf actions on division algebras.
