DISCUSSIONThe presenting symptom in both cases re ported here was a unilateral squint with im paired visual acuity, and the fundus findings in the affected eyes were similar in both cases. A white fibroglial mass was present obscuring the origin of the vessels, the phys iologic cup, and in the first case, almost the entire optic disk. Another interesting find ing was the ensheathing of the vessels at the vicinity of the optic nerve head by fibrous strands connected with the central fibrous band. Thus, it seems very likely that the same fundamental disease, varying in sever ity, was present in both cases. Reese3 and Manschot4 have described coexistent posterior persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous in cases of anterior per sistent hyperplastic vitreous. Falciform folds of the retina have been reported by many authors; however, Mann5 first showed that
